Navette OS

Every Portfolio Falls Behind. The Only Question Is: How Long?

The investing industry is obsessed with returns. Retirees need a different reading. Navette OS answers two questions in years: how long until you're back on track, and how long is your spouse exposed if you're not there?

Opening

Years. Not percentages. Not probabilities.

For retirees, the question is not “how much did I make?” It is “how long until I'm back on track?” Navette OS measures that. Then it answers the second question the industry almost never asks: “If I'm not here, how long is my spouse exposed?”

That shift changes everything. Returns become inputs. Time becomes the output families can actually use.

The platform

Navette OS is the experience. RRH, SRH, and the Margaret Number are the instruments inside it.

The instruments

Three readings. One clearer picture of retirement.

01

RRH

Recovery Return Horizon

The time your portfolio needs to close a gap with no withdrawals. Think of it as the engine diagnostic. A short RRH means the engine is healthy. A long or infinite RRH means the architecture is failing years before the balance says so.

02

SRH

Spending Recovery Horizon

RRH measures the engine. SRH measures the engine under load. It tells you how long recovery takes while life keeps drawing from the portfolio. When SRH goes infinite, the portfolio is in structural decline.

03

Margaret Number

The surviving spouse gap

The Margaret Number measures the gap between when liquid capital runs out and when the surviving spouse's financial horizon ends. If that number is 13 years, the spouse is exposed for 13 years after the money is gone.

Why time?

Every other part of life answers the question “how long?”

You break your leg and the doctor tells you when you'll be hiking again. Your flight is delayed and the app tells you when you land. Retirement planning, the one domain where time is literally the only resource you cannot replace, still tells people how nervous to be instead of how long to wait.

  • The first useful question is always “how long?”
  • Retirees spend portfolios; they do not simply observe them.
  • Families need time readings they can act on.

Methodology

Independently validated. Proprietary in implementation.

The RRH and SRH frameworks are built on peer-validated foundations including Grinold-Kahn alpha decomposition and Hoffstein-Sibears recovery horizon research, extended to decumulation by Art Johnson.

The methodology has been independently validated by academic reviewers, mathematicians, and leading quantitative researchers. The frameworks are proprietary to Eddy Wealth Inc. We share the diagnostic, not the recipe.

The experience

Navette OS delivers a personalised time portrait of your family through watchface dials, maps, and narrative, not a spreadsheet or a Monte Carlo printout.
